What is Little Green Men?

They're LITTLE because they're a small company and they plan to stay that way. This is not one of those huge, impersonal "McCleaning" services. They're GREEN because they are eco-friendly. Using rags and towels over wasteful paper products, they've developed systems and methods that effectively clean up the crud while keeping the impact on the environment at a minimum. They use non-toxic products proven to be effective, yet safe for you, your family, and your pets. They're MEN because, well, they're just two guys (plus an additional hard-working crew member named Ashley).

It is amazing that for such a politically charged and environmentally conscious area, the concept of green cleaning is almost a novelty in the DC/Metro neighborhoods. Many people eat organic food, shop at fair trade stores, yet keep toxic chemicals under their sink and on their counter-tops. Little Green Men hopes their efforts will stimulate people to rethink the products that they bring into their homes while making healthier decisions on how to clean with these products. Little Green Men is just that: little. Not only are Jason and Spencer the owners of the company, they also work on the crew. They feel this is advantageous because it allows them to maintain control over all aspects of the business. It helps them ensure quality as well as develop more personable relationships with their clients. They have no ambitions of becoming a nationwide chain. They just want to run a small, ethical and eco-friendly business that will promote healthier lifestyles for themselves and their clients.

On the mantra of "think globally, act locally," Jason and Spencer believe that the key to clean, low-impact living is in the small stuff. That's why they keep it little. By staying small, they are able to avoid excess. For instance, they have one crew and one car. They schedule clients to limit travel time and gas expenses.
